About The Position

The Campus Intern is employed by St. John Paul II and is intended for a student at UNT/TWU who is actively involved in the Catholic Campus Ministry. The position requires 10-15 hours per week during the academic year, with potential for summer hours that must be scheduled and approved by the Business Manager. To be eligible, the student intern must be enrolled full-time at either UNT or TWU. Employment will be terminated upon graduation or if full-time student status is not maintained.

Requirements

  • Must be a student at UNT/TWU.
  • Must be actively involved in the Catholic Campus Ministry.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at UNT/TWU during the academic year.
  • Ability to accept work interruptions while remaining focused on duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general cleaning duties.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • May be required to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks efficiently and responsibly.
  • Infrequent travel, by car, may be required to Diocese Parishes and/or schools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming presence at the parish and campus center.
  • Keep buildings clean and in order at all times, including cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, parish, and campus center.
  • Perform duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stocking supplies, laundry, setting up for events, taking out recycling, and emptying trash cans.
  • Set up for various events including OCIA, Sunday Mass, Cenical, and student meals.
  • Coordinate with other Campus Interns to assign and ensure completion of weekly responsibilities.
  • May be required to work weekends for event setup.
