About The Position

The Campus Intern is employed by St. John Paul II and is intended for a student at UNT/TWU who is actively involved in the Catholic Campus Ministry. The position requires 10-15 hours per week during the academic year, with potential for summer hours that must be approved by the Business Manager. Eligibility requires full-time enrollment at UNT/TWU, and employment will terminate upon graduation or loss of full-time status. The intern will maintain a welcoming presence, ensure buildings are clean and orderly, and assist with setting up for various events, which may include weekend work.

Requirements

  • Must be a student at UNT/TWU.
  • Must be actively involved in the Catholic Campus Ministry.
  • Must be enrolled at either UNT/TWU as a full-time student during the academic year.
  • Ability to accept work interruptions while remaining focused on duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general cleaning duties.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • May be required to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks efficiently and responsibly.
  • Ability to use various computer cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow directives from Pastor or Chief of Staff in a timely manner.
  • Ability to receive, understand, retain, and complete verbal and written tasks.
  • Ability to work well with people from a diverse variety of audiences.
  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming presence at the parish and campus center.
  • Keep the buildings clean and in order at all times, including cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, parish, and campus center.
  • Perform duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stocking supplies, laundry, setting up for events, taking out recycling, and emptying trash cans.
  • Set up for events such as OCIA, Sunday Mass, Cenical, and Wednesday student meals.
  • Coordinate with other Campus Interns to divide and ensure all weekly responsibilities are covered.
  • Perform other duties as needed by the parish.
