About The Position

Yelp is seeking a Campus Ambassador to grow Yelp’s presence at New York University and build community among students. The ambassador will work approximately 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule, with support from Yelp’s community expansion team and opportunities to collaborate with ambassadors at other universities. This is a part-time, hourly, fixed-term role running from January through December 2027. The role involves planning student events, creating social media content, developing local guides, partnering with university organizations, and coming up with grassroots marketing ideas. The ambassador will also participate in regular check-ins with the Yelp U program lead to share event results and campus insights. Compensation is $22–$27 per hour.

Requirements

Be currently enrolled as a student at NYU and plan to remain enrolled through December 2027.
Live on or within 30 minutes of NYU campus housing.
Be available to work 10 hours per week through the end of 2027.
Genuinely enjoy helping people discover and support local businesses.
Demonstrate leadership and planning experience among friends, in a club, on a team, or in a dorm.
Be savvy on social media.
Show initiative and the ability to turn ideas into action.
Be organized and reliable, and able to balance the role with coursework.

Responsibilities

Plan and host 2–3 Yelp events or experiences for university students each semester.
Create original content for Yelp’s social channels.
Build local guides and encourage students to discover and recommend their favorite businesses on Yelp.
Partner with university clubs and organizations to promote the Yelp community.
Develop creative grassroots marketing ideas that get students talking about Yelp.
Attend regular check-ins with the Yelp U program lead and share event results and campus insights.
