About The Position

Bouldering Project is hiring a Campus Ambassador to build an ongoing relationship with the Howard University community and promote its Eckington and Columbia Heights climbing gyms. The role supports the Columbia Heights gym’s opening in early 2027 by increasing awareness of Bouldering Project’s spaces and offerings, connecting with students and campus organizations, and developing a pipeline of student members. The ambassador will lead grassroots marketing, carry out pre- and post-opening activations, and help establish student meetups at the gyms. Before the gym opens, the ambassador will represent Bouldering Project on campus through outreach and events, build student interest, sell Founding Student Memberships, and form relationships with campus leaders, Greek life, athletic programs, and student organizations. After opening, the ambassador will organize and host student climb nights, facilitate meetups, and continue marketing activities to drive student memberships. This is a 10-hour-per-week role for a currently enrolled Howard University student. The schedule may be flexible and may include evenings, weekends, or other hours outside standard business hours, depending on programming and business needs. Compensation is $19.40 per hour. Bouldering Project provides training, coaching, mentorship, swag, event gear, and activation materials. The role also includes a free membership for the ambassador and one guest during the employment period, discounts on gear, merchandise, and local retail partners, and hands-on experience in grassroots marketing, sales, event coordination, and business growth.
