About The Position

Gunstock Mountain Resort is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Resort Services team. Assist with the day-to-day operation and supervision of Gunstock's popular summer Campground and winter equipment Rental Shop, including reservations/registration, retail transactions, equipment fitting, and guest service. You'll work closely with the Camping and Rentals Manager to train and support staff, keep operations organized and safe, and deliver the kind of experience that keeps guests coming back season after season. Gunstock's Campground is a high-volume summer operation spanning 140 acres with 260+ campsites (including full hook-ups, electric/water, and basic sites) plus two rustic cabins, driving peak weekend demand and fast-paced check-in/check-out days. In winter, our base-area Rental Shop supports high-throughput skier and rider traffic, requiring efficient fitting, accurate transactions, and a consistently ready-to-go fleet from first issue to final return.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in hospitality, recreation, retail, or guest services
  • Strong guest-service mindset with demonstrated ability to resolve issues confidently and professionally
  • Must be 18+
  • Able to work weekends/holidays as business needs require
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily campground activities including reservations/registration, pre-arrival site checks and set-up, store opening/closing, and guest relations; adjust staffing based on volume and weather.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of campground activities and themed weekends including crafts, socials, scavenger hunts, guided hikes, and more.
  • Help lead day-to-day rental shop operations including fleet readiness, opening/closing, inventory control, and guest flow; support boot fitting, equipment issue/return, and peak-volume operations as needed.
  • Support seasonal retail set-up and breakdown, shop merchandising, receiving, point-of-sale accuracy, stock organization, and loss prevention.
  • Assist with hiring/onboarding; train, coach, and provide clear feedback to staff to maintain POS accuracy and efficiency, as well as guest service standards; act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the department manager and resolve guest and employee concerns in a professional and timely manner.
