Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in election campaign finance preferred, with demonstrated understanding of the election process and cycle, and the voter registration management system.
  • Demonstrated understanding of campaign finance auditing and concepts.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a management role with direct staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of three campaign finance auditors.
  • Assisting campaign and political action committees with complex campaign finance filing and reporting issues.
  • Working with candidates, officeholders and campaign treasures to ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) and Ohio Secretary of State (SOS) directives.
  • Working with other government agencies as it relates to campaign finance filings, especially the SOS.
  • Preparing referrals to the Ohio Elections Integrity Unit for campaign finance violations and corresponding as needed with Integrity Unit staff.
  • Ensuring that notifications to file campaign finance reports are mailed in accordance with State laws.
  • Reviewing staff’s correspondence to campaign committees.
  • Preparing, updating and presenting campaign finance seminars.
  • Development and implementation of effective departmental trainings.
  • Attending any and all continuing education sessions required.
  • Ensuring that the campaign finance program is kept up to date.
  • Assisting management in completing all special projects related to Candidate and Petition Services.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of departmental work plans.
  • Maintaining an effective productivity schedule.
  • Assisting in safeguarding sensitive documents and supplies.
  • Assisting in maintaining inventory of department’s forms and supplies.
  • Assisting in ordering all election-related documents and materials in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the management and evaluation of department staff.
  • Assuming responsibility for the department staff in the absence of the manager and assistant manager.
  • Notifying the appropriate departments when changes occur that could affect the election process.
  • Ensuring duties are conducted according to NVRA and HAVA procedures.
  • Enforcing the policies and procedures mandated by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
  • Performing all other duties assigned, delegated or required of the Candidate and Petition Services Campaign Finance Coordinator as well as those prescribed by law.
