This role involves receiving telephone calls, referring them to the appropriate individual or department, taking and transcribing messages, greeting visitors, and providing general information about the organization. The position requires working on task-oriented assignments within the immediate work unit and maintaining operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of personal computer use, Microsoft Office Suite, use of office equipment.
• Standard typing skills required.
• Ability to work on a team.

• Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Responsibilities

• Receive telephone calls and refer them to the appropriate individual or department.
• Take and transcribe messages to ensure prompt transmission to the appropriate party.
• Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate individual.
• Provide general information about the organization to outside callers (e.g., applicants, and vendors).
• May ensure that a visitor's log is maintained and issue visitor's badges.
