About The Position

Catholic Charities Disability Services & Ministries is looking for a compassionate nurse to work for our 7-week our summer Camp Happiness program for children ages 5-18 with developmental disabilities. Coordinate and provide health care for Disability Services, Camp Happiness. Hourly pay rate: $27.24 Seasonal position from to dates: June 8th - July 24th Camp Nurse: Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited school of nursing, current R.N. licensure in State of Ohio and current Basic & Cardiac Life Support Provider card with 1-2 years relevant work history.
Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with a variety of people.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat and reach above head.
Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
Ability to work with diverse client population, community organizations as well as staff at all levels.
Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must possess a strong initiative and be self-directed, making many decisions independently.
Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.

Responsibilities

Review health history/examination forms for all campers.
Check the camp health log: to assure log is being completed correctly; to see specific campers for follow-up; make appropriate notations and review with Site Director and sign.
Assist with health emergencies as needed, to determine when immediate hospitalization is warranted.
Assess illness and injuries of campers and staff as necessary; report any health limitations or restrictions to appropriate camp personnel.
Monitor communicable diseases through assessment and development of appropriate precautions.
Review all completed Incident Reports informing parents/guardians of medical/physical problems or concerns which may need attention.
Ensure that site(s) have proper first aid materials/equipment and suggest any additional supplies.
Initiate medical education for any staff as needed.
When not providing medical care, actively engage as a team member supporting campers in all activities.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
