Camp Counselor - Christian Summer Camp (Overnight & Day Camps)
About The Position
Spruce Lake Day Camp provides a fun and caring place for campers ages 5-15 to learn about God and enjoy time outdoors with friends. Spruce Lake's Overnight Camp gives kids ages 8-18 the opportunity to experience adventure and fun in God's creation for a week at a time with other kids their age. Camp counselors in both Day Camp & Overnight Camp have a profound impact on each camper's experience and make what we do at camp possible. Each summer we look for individuals who are responsible, fun, and have a desire to point people towards Christ! You will be working with an amazing summer ministry team as well as discipling campers and doing life in community.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must be at least 17 years old for Assistant Counselor positions.
- Must be at least 18 years old for Senior Counselor positions.
- Responsible.
- Fun.
- Desire to point people towards Christ.
- Must complete FBI Criminal Background fingerprint clearance.
- Must complete PA Child Abuse Clearance.
- Must complete PA Criminal History Clearance.
- Do not use AI tools to write your responses on this form or future correspondence.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with campers.
- Experience in Christian ministry.
Responsibilities
- Share Christ and have a blast with the campers in your group as you build relationships.
- Lead small groups of campers with support from camp leadership and assistant counselors (Senior Counselors).
- Gain experience working with campers with guidance from senior counselors and camp leadership (Assistant Counselors).
- Point people towards Christ.
- Work with an amazing summer ministry team.
- Disciple campers and do life in community.
- Start each day with a time of worship and brief Bible story/study.
- Enjoy Awesome Fun Activities with your campers.
- Supervise campers during Lunch Time.
- Supervise campers during Water Fun - Swim at the pool, go down the waterslide, or kayak on the pond.
- Supervise campers during Wrap-Up & Dismissal for Day Camp / Dinner for Overnight Camp.
- Lead or supervise campers during Rec Hour - big group games on the ballfield.
- Participate in Fireside - fun and meaningful worship with the overnight campers.
- Sleep well (Sleepouts optional!).
Benefits
- Pay from $320/week for assistant counselors up to $500/week for senior counselors.
