About The Position

KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for kids aged walking to 11 years old, focused on helping parents build stronger, smarter, and more athletic children. We aim to help children discover their potential, becoming confident in social interactions, physical activities, and academic settings. KidStrong Southeast PA is expanding and seeking passionate, energetic professionals to engage with children and parents, making a positive impact. This role involves coaching children through a designed camp curriculum focused on brain, physical, and character development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with parents about any incidents and available during typical camp hours (9 am - 2:30 pm, with potential variations). Additional coaching opportunities may be available through private parties and KidStrong classes, possibly requiring further training.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable.
  • CPR certified.
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done.
  • Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp.
  • Available during camp hours (typically 9 am - 2:30 pm, may vary).

Nice To Haves

  • Athletic or coaching background.
  • Experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4-9.
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.
  • Enjoy the spotlight.

Responsibilities

  • Coach children in groups of up to 20, aged 4-9, using the KidStrong curriculum.
  • Ensure camps start and end on schedule and adhere to the curriculum's pace.
  • Greet students and parents/guardians upon arrival.
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
  • Keep accurate attendance records.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the center, including lobby, bathrooms, and floors, which involves trash removal, sweeping, mopping, equipment wiping, and sanitizing mats.
  • Utilize the KS Coach’s App for recording class data (attendance, awards) and providing records to parents.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers via Slack.
  • Complete required training through LearnUpon.
  • Work in a physically intensive environment, potentially covering miles, lifting, and moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Work hands-on with children to ensure proper technique and safety.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.
  • Obtain camp-certified status.
  • Ensure supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers, prioritizing their well-being.
