About The Position
Mets Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring energetic Summer Camp Coaches and Camp Counselors for their youth baseball and softball camps in Brooklyn, NY. This is a paid seasonal position working with campers ages 4–13 in a positive, team-focused environment. It's a great opportunity for college students, student-athletes, teachers, coaches, education majors, recent graduates, or anyone who enjoys working with children to spend their summer outdoors while building leadership and coaching experience. No professional coaching experience is required as training, curriculum, and equipment are provided.
Requirements
- Available for the required week of July 27-31 or August 17–21
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and energetic
- Comfortable working outdoors in all summer conditions
- Positive role models for young athletes
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children through camps, coaching, tutoring, childcare, recreation, or youth programs is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor campers ages 4–13
- Lead baseball and softball drills, games, and skill-building activities
- Help create a safe, positive, and energetic camp environment
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Work alongside experienced coaches and camp leadership
- Assist with daily camp operations and camper supervision
