•$155,400 - $233,200

About The Position

As a Qualcomm Camera Engineer, you will work on technologies for connected imaging experiences and devices across Mobile, Automotive, XR, IoT, and Compute. The role focuses on end-to-end Image Signal Processing (ISP) pipeline tuning and complex camera-system engineering, with the goal of meeting image-quality, system-performance, ISP area, and power targets. The engineer works independently with minimal supervision, provides guidance to team members, and makes decisions that can affect work beyond the immediate group. The position involves planning, problem-solving, prioritization, and communicating technical information to colleagues and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience; or a master's degree in one of these fields and 3+ years of related work experience; or a PhD in one of these fields and 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to plan, solve problems, and prioritize work without defined task steps.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for conveying information.
  • Experience and expertise relevant to designing, developing, implementing, verifying, and tuning camera systems and Image Signal Processing pipelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Image Signal Processing pipeline design, development, implementation, and verification.
  • 5+ years of experience in camera tuning to improve image quality, including noise reduction, dynamic range, multi-frame processing, and color accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Tune end-to-end Image Signal Processing pipelines to achieve image-quality KPIs using subjective and objective evaluation.
  • Apply image-processing algorithms and techniques, including spatial and temporal noise reduction, multi-frame capture, multi-exposure HDR, tone mapping, and sharpening.
  • Research, design, develop, verify, debug, implement, and validate complex camera systems, software, and system-level solutions.
  • Decompose system architectures, image-quality modules, algorithms, and features into requirements and specifications that improve image quality across use cases.
  • Ensure image-quality, system-performance, ISP area, and power targets are met; address product and customer requirements and support customer feature implementations.
  • Identify implementation or configuration errors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize camera systems, hardware, and software.
  • Develop technical documentation and feature descriptions for camera projects to help users and customers implement solutions effectively.
  • Provide supervision or guidance to other team members and communicate technical information, using negotiation, influence, and tact where needed.

Benefits

  • Competitive annual discretionary bonus program.
  • Opportunity for annual RSU grants; employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for the annual bonus.
  • Competitive benefits package designed to support employees at work, at home, and at play.
