About The Position
We are a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for our client law firms. Due to increased demand, we are now interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated California Commercial / Real Estate Litigation Paralegal. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal with direct experience in California commercial and/or real estate litigation matters
- Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence
- Experience managing discovery, including document review, organization, production, and coordinating responses
- Experience managing case calendars, including calendaring deadlines, scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Experience with commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business disputes, and related litigation
- Experience with real estate litigation matters, including lease disputes, title issues, landlord/tenant matters, quiet title actions, and other real property disputes
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who can work independently and proactively move cases forward with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Assist with all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial preparation
- Manage discovery, including document review, organization, production, and coordinating responses
- Calendar deadlines, schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Work independently and proactively move cases forward with minimal supervision
