Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years in similar role
  • Demonstrated work experience with emphasis on quality and job knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience working with precision measurement equipment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Self-directed with the ability to organize multiple tasks and routines, results oriented.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to deal well with customer demands.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Basic proficiency with enterprise software-based ERP/MRP systems
  • Flexibility to alter work schedule for timely completion of projects.
  • Prioritization of multiple projects to meet operational goals.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50 lbs following company safe lifting protocol.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using PPE such as gloves, eye and ear protection.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able/willing to travel to sister plant approximately 6 miles away for performance of duties on periodic basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Third party certification in calibration or GD&T based blueprint reading preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply basic calibration methods on assorted sizes and types of hand measurement tools, scales, attribute gages, mechanical, and electro-mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Identify gages needing repair; perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, or schedule third party servicing of specific gage types.
  • Administration responsibility for calibration program software, including detailed record keeping of technical information and periodic performance monitoring, measurement, and reporting.
  • Solicit vendor quotations and prepare purchase requisitions for calibration services; manage receipt of goods and services.
  • Coordinate on-site activities of outside vendors for manufacturing, engineering, and laboratory areas.
  • Document calibration process, methods, and procedures, prepare reports, and prioritize work schedule.
  • Present documentation of individual gage status or overall process when requested.
  • Maintain control and traceability related to gaging with internal customers as well as external vendors.
  • Assist engineering with gaging issues when requested.
  • Track and maintain scales calibrations
  • Assist manufacturing operators with tool and gage maintenance and performance issues.
  • Communication with manufacturing leadership, tool room and engineering support staff, as needed.
  • Perform 5S duties within Quality Lab.
  • Periodic performance of other duties as assigned.
  • Assist/support operator gage training initiatives.
