The Opportunity As a Test Equipment Technician at Allegro MicroSystems, you will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of specialized semiconductor test systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our test floor or engineering labs operate at peak efficiency, directly impacting our ability to deliver high-quality products to our automotive and industrial customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, "Innovation with Purpose," and a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronic Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. (Equivalent military technical training is also highly valued).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a semiconductor test or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and electronic measurement equipment (Multimeters, Oscilloscopes).
  • Ability to read and follow Manufacturers manuals and Internal test procedures
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for working with global engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specific ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Fluke, or Cohu).
  • Previous experience in Metrology field and Metrology software ( e.g. MetTeams / MetCal)
  • Basic understanding of scripting or software tools used for equipment automation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in both a lab or production environment.
  • Manage the calibration schedule for laboratory and production instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Power Supplies, etc.) to ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO/IATF 16949).
  • Maintain accurate logs of equipment repairs, maintenance history, and spare parts inventory using our internal tracking systems.
  • Work closely with Test Engineers and Production Supervisors to minimize equipment downtime and support "One Allegro" productivity goals.
  • Diagnose Troubleshoot & Repair Test equipment failures
  • Communicate and coordinate with external venders for RMA’s and Product support
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) prevention and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
