Calibration Technician / Metrology Specialist - Casa Grande, AZ - 12 hr Day Shift Precision. Accuracy. Impact. Requirements

  • 2–5 years of calibration experience
  • Associate degree (2‑year technical degree) or equivalent technical training
  • Experience performing calibration and test methods on dimensional, electrical, and physical measurement equipment
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematics , including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics
  • Strong computer skills, including data analysis and technical report writing
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple organizational levels
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multi‑discipline calibrations on measurement systems, including dimensional, electrical, and physical equipment
  • Generate equipment specifications and calibration standards documentation
  • Design and build calibration fixtures
  • Select appropriate calibration standards based on tolerance accuracy ratios, specifications, and measurement uncertainty
  • Utilize automated and electronic calibration systems and software tools
  • Research, troubleshoot, and determine corrective actions for out‑of‑tolerance devices
  • Repair, replace, or recommend actions for equipment requiring adjustment
  • Conduct analysis to prevent repeat calibration or repair issues
  • Generate, review, and document out‑of‑tolerance reports
  • Maintain calibration history, recall schedules, and overdue tracking using calibration database systems
  • Submit and support engineering change orders related to calibration activities
  • Perform data analysis and report findings from measurement studies
  • Document all calibration work clearly and accurately to support audit readiness
  • Provide formal training to equipment users and fellow calibration technicians
  • Serve as a technical resource by researching and responding to user measurement questions
  • Mentor and support less‑experienced team members
  • Establish work priorities, manage schedules, and meet assigned deadlines
  • Use tools and order parts with strong attention to safety and compliance requirements
