Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Understand electricity and electrical theory
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers, computer operating systems, PLCs, electrical and pneumatic components and devices
  • Ability to work safely in electrical panels with up to 480 volts
  • Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Follow diagnostic and repair procedures from instrument equipment manuals on a wide variety of equipment requires training and experience in electrical theory, electronics, plant systems, equipment and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete required documentation neatly and accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with calibration, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causes quickly
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment across electrical, automation, and PLC-controlled systems (24V–600V).
  • Work with advanced instrumentation—oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers, laser measurement tools, and more—to ensure equipment accuracy and reliability.
  • Execute and improve preventative maintenance programs for electrical and control systems to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
  • Assist with electrical upgrades, monitor contractor work, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
  • Respond to equipment issues in real time, troubleshoot I/O systems and sensors, and collaborate with production teams to keep operations on track.
  • Provide on-the-job training, mentor team members, and communicate shift activities clearly and effectively.
  • Support packaging, processing, filling, warehouse, and facility systems.
  • Stay ahead of evolving technology through hands-on training, certifications, and vendor-led programs.
  • Be accountable for meeting compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
