Requirements

  • Associate Degree in metrology or instrumentation.
  • Minimum one of previous experience in instrumentation and/or calibration.
  • Experience in the use of computers.
  • Knowledgeable in mathematics including fractions, decimals and percents.
  • Basic knowledge in weights and measurements, able to use equipment like: micrometers, gauges, optical comparator, calipers, manometers, barometers, dead weight testers, etc.
  • Able to communicate effectively and show leadership skills.
  • Must maintain good communication with upper management to prevent or avoid situations affecting the manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge in the use of computer programs like: Words, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Calibration Manager.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all plant instruments update and calibrated.
  • Maintain calibration of instruments used in manufacturing and support areas for release purpose.
  • Responsible for data entry in the Calibration Manager Computerized Program of all calibrations performed.
  • Maintain updated the Calibration tickler and follow up the overdue instruments.
  • Perform the calibrations of instruments.
  • Distribute the calibration tickler to all users responsible for the instruments and provide follow up.
  • Provide maintenance to equipments used as standards and verify the certification expiration date prior to use the equipment.
  • Make sure that every calibrated equipment has procedure that describes the calibration method.
  • Perform periodic audits to the calibration system verifying instrument number, location, status and use versus data on the program.
  • Maintain and organize the file of calibration documents.
  • Responsible for conducting EHS inspections to identify and correct safety hazards and environmental aspects.
  • Follow the EHS applicable procedures, and analyze EHS incidents (including near misses) to find causes and take corrective action.
  • Observe data privacy policies at all time.
