General Motors is seeking an engineer to develop robust engine calibration solutions across vehicles, embedded software, control algorithms, and engine hardware. The role supports calibrations that meet customer, performance, emissions, regulatory, and program requirements for internal combustion engine and PHEV applications. The engineer supports the Lead Calibrator and Diagnostic Strategist and works with Vehicle Calibration, Engine Controls, software, hardware, emissions, vehicle, manufacturing, quality, supplier, and compliance teams. Assignments may vary by program and business need, and support one of two primary discipline areas: Serial Data and Platform Calibrations, as well as related engine calibration functions. The position involves designing, developing, calibrating, validating, and releasing engine control and diagnostic solutions; evaluating results using data acquisition, empirical analysis, and engineering judgment; and supporting development and validation activities involving engines, dynamometers, vehicles, and emissions. The engineer also contributes to requirements development, technical reviews, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, calibration risk mitigation, program objectives, launch readiness, and the establishment and improvement of calibration procedures and technical processes. The role is categorized as hybrid, with the selected candidate expected to report to a specific location at least three times a week or at another frequency set by their manager. Relocation benefits are not provided. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
