About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Cage/Credit Director in ensuring that all accounting activities in the Cage/Credit Division of the Finance Department are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, and established policies, procedures and controls. This role promotes an atmosphere of fun for casino guests and encourages mutual respect, dignity, and integrity with all employees by setting positive examples. It also instills an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns, and resolve conflicts, while retaining employees through involvement in training and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, accounting or related area, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in accounting, preferably in banking operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write effective reports and memos.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time at the Cage/Credit counter.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Director of Cage and Cage Manager with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Access funds and ensures prompt distribution to appropriate areas of property.
  • Processes all Keno cash transactions, following proper procedures for sale and payout of tickets.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining, and terminating employees.
  • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by employees under his/her span of control.
  • Monitors all financial activities related to Cage/Credit to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls.
  • Assists with the coordination of audits relating to bank boards, guest deposits, and rotation logs.
  • Assists Cage/Credit Supervisors in understanding their responsibilities.
  • Reviews departmental reports for accuracy and makes revisions as needed.
  • Ensures a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction with the Cage/Credit operation.
  • Facilitates the flow of information by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with employees.
  • Is held accountable for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity, and integrity with all employees.
  • Instills an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns, and resolve conflicts.
  • Retains employees through involvement in employee training and development.
