About The Position

This role involves performing cashier functions, acting as a Supervisor on Duty in the absence of a supervisor, and overseeing the activities of cashiers to ensure asset integrity and guest service levels. The position facilitates financial transactions, handles associated paperwork, and assists in the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures. A key responsibility is maintaining current knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations pertaining to patron wins and prizes. The role also includes scheduling, managing staffing levels based on business volume, resolving variances, and adhering strictly to cage policies and procedures for currency and check handling. Additionally, the Cage Lead Cashier is responsible for promoting positive guest relations, recording multiple transactions, managing SAR activity, mediating guest and employee issues, and maintaining departmental records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cashier functions as described in Cage Cashier job description.
  • Acts as a Supervisor on Duty when the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Supervises the activities of cashiers on an assigned shift ensuring the integrity of assets and guest service levels.
  • Verifies even exchanges when there is a variance.
  • Facilitates a wide range of financial transactions and handle any paperwork that may be required in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assists with the implementation and enforcement of all policies and procedures; notifies employees of revisions to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California laws and regulations as they pertain to tax withholding and information reporting on patron wins and prizes paid to casino patrons on Forms W-2G, 1099MISC and 1042S.
  • Makes schedules on a given shift.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels by monitoring business volumes at the cage and managing early outs and overtime.
  • Resolves variances on a given shift.
  • Has knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Understands and strictly adheres to Cage policies and procedures related to currency handling, check handling, chip handling and internal guest services.
  • Brings Team member concerns and/or problems and unusual guest activities to the attention of the cage shift supervisor.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  • Responsible for multiple transaction recording and SAR activity.
  • Intervene and mediate problems between guests and employees.
  • Held accountable to a high degree for accuracy, confidentiality and thoroughness of department records.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
