The Cage Cashier is responsible for balancing their assigned bank accurately, ensuring the protection of Red Hawk Casino's cash and non-cash assets. This role involves handling various financial transactions for guests, including cashing chips, tickets, and gaming tokens, as well as cashing personal, business, and traveler's checks. The Cage Cashier also prepares and processes tax documents, pays out large jackpots, and complies with Title 31 requirements for tracking cash transactions. Additionally, they redeem foreign currency, process marker issuance and buy-back transactions, prepare chip fills, assist guests with check cashing and credit lines, and process cash advances and gift card redemptions. The role requires verifying and reconciling guest balances, answering phones, assisting with gratuity counts, distributing cash to casino outlets, verifying money drops, reconciling accounts, and maintaining records of Main Bank activities. They also handle mutilated money, process bus buy-ins, promotional chips, and promotional drawings, prepare cash fills for kiosks, and perform even exchanges between the slot department and the cage. A key aspect of the role is verifying all cash, monetary instruments, and IDs, identifying suspicious or fraudulent items, and operating various cash handling machines. The Cage Cashier must maintain knowledge of gaming laws and internal controls, report unusual guest activities, and train new team members, being accountable for accuracy during training. They facilitate information flow through departmental meetings, maintain departmental records, uphold guest service standards, stay informed about special events, resolve minor guest conflicts related to rewards, and encourage sign-ups for the Rewards Club. All other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
