About The Position

Assists the Shift Supervisor with supervising and oversight of all monetary transactions and paper work pertaining to these transactions during an assigned shift. This role ensures that all activities are in accordance with approved policies and procedures, and may assist in ensuring proper staffing levels during an assigned shift. The Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for following all prescribed methods of operations implemented by the Cage Manager and ensuring that all IRS Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations are enforced. This role also ensures that all paperwork turned in by other departments are properly filed and logged, and performs physical verification of all monetary values within the Vault/Main Bank area. Additionally, it ensures monitoring, cash maintenance, and reporting of ATM/Ticket Redemption Kiosks is performed, as required, and that shift-balancing reports are prepared. The position communicates non-routine activities to the Cage Manager, ensures electronic surveillance systems are clear of obstructions, and that all internal control requirements are followed. Effective communication and networking with staff, other departments, and outside representatives are crucial for maintaining a productive department operation. The role safeguards and accounts for the assets of the owners and complies with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission. It also monitors the casino environment and follows established safety procedures to ensure the safety of guests and co-workers, works respectfully and effectively as part of the company team, monitors the condition and needs of equipment, and communicates these to the Cage Manager. The Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for resolving conflicts/concerns of employees and customers during the assigned shift and ensures proper training of all Cage Team Members.

Requirements

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Requires an Associates degree in a relevant field of study, or two (2) years of Main Bank and Employee Window Cage operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be knowledgeable with Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations.
• Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
• Must be able to work directly and interact with the general public.
• Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to read, understand and interpret Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and possess tact when dealing with guest or employee issues.
• Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations.
• Must be flexible with work shifts and days off.
• Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.
• Must be confidential.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, the Assistant Shift Supervisor will ensure the Shift Supervisor duties are performed.
• Ensures that all activities are in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
• May assist in ensuring proper staffing levels during an assigned shift.
• Responsible to follow all prescribed methods of operations, which have been implemented by the Cage Manager.
• Ensures that all IRS Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations are enforced.
• Ensures that all paperwork turned in by other departments are properly filed and logged.
• Ensures physical verification of all monetary values within the Vault/Main Bank area.
• Ensures monitoring, cash maintenance, and reporting of ATM/Ticket Redemption Kiosks is performed, as required.
• Ensures shift-balancing reports are prepared.
• Communicates to Cage Manager any non-routine activities occurring during their respective shift.
• Ensures that the field of electronics surveillance that monitors the counter tops and banks are clear of any obstructions that may possibly hinder this surveillance.
• Ensures all internal control requirements are followed.
• Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
• Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
• Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
• Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
• Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
• Monitor the condition and needs of equipment and communicate to the Cage Manager.
• Responsible for resolving conflicts/concerns of employees and customers during the assigned shift.
• Ensures proper training of all Cage Team Members.
• Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.
• May verify transactions for $500 or more.
• Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
