About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Cage Assembler for their Production team. This role is responsible for efficiently and safely producing precast concrete products under supervision, working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve production goals. The company is a privately held family business with a long history of innovation in pipe manufacturing, serving North America.

Requirements

Must be able to follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to use hand tools.
Teamwork environment.
Must have a safety-first attitude.
Ability to work in dust and outside environmental conditions (i.e., rain, wind).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, and stooping throughout the shift.
Ability to keep up with manufacturing requirements.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Use to wearing earplugs and other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) – such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
Must pass Pre-employment Physical and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a construction or outside environment is highly preferred.
1 -2 years-Construction Experience (Preferred)
1-2 Years- Manufacturing Precast Concrete (Preferred)
Pouring and finishing concrete in forms

Responsibilities

Lifts and carries materials and tools throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.
Completing final finish on a poured concrete product, using power tools and hand tools.
Use hand tools such as the hammer, sledgehammer, wrench, pliers to accomplish daily tasks.
Assist with the installation of plates, rebar, and wire, insulation, lifters, and anchors.
Assist with tying rebar, grinding, buffing.
Taping and cutting strands, finish exposed sides.
May be required to use a pressure washer and/or sandblasting equipment.
Always maintain neat and orderly work areas.
Cleaning Yard and picking up trash.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Bring problems to the attention of Safety Team/ Supervisor.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
Reports any problems or discrepancies to management.
Perform pre-operation inspections on an assigned forklift to ensure it is in safe operating condition, report at once any safety concerns or operational issues with the forklift.
Other duties may be assigned.
