About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to rotate stock, move inventory, lift serving pans, equipment, etc.
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the work shift.
  • Ability to work safely and accurately under a deadline.
  • Ability to display a positive attitude at work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of meal production, serving, and clean-up within the school kitchen and cafeteria as assigned by the school Cafeteria Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
  • Operate the computerized point of the sale cash register.
  • Receive deliveries and stock inventory in designated locations.
  • Use commercial kitchen equipment to prepare and serve food in large quantities.
  • Use cleaning solutions to clean kitchen equipment, serving areas, handwash pots and pans, and other cleaning and sanitizing duties.
  • Perform all duties while following National Restaurant Association standards for sanitation and safety.
  • Perform simple math functions and operate a computerized cash register and make accurate change.
  • Learn and follow food safety procedures (annual ServSafe training is provided and is required to pass certification exam following training).
  • Follow directions and ability to work independently.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and contribute to a positive and respectful working environment.
  • Work in a clean and sanitary manner.
