About The Position

The Cafeteria Worker position at Heartland Technical Education Center is a part-time role for the 2026-2027 contract period, working 5 hours per day for 188 days. This role involves assisting with food service operations, including preparation, serving, cleaning, and cashiering, while interacting with students, staff, and the public. A criminal record check is required upon employment if not completed within the last year.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with students, staff and the public.
• Minimal knowledge of sanitation, serving, kitchen equipment operation and/or cashiering procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the cafeteria supervisor and staff.
• Assist on the serving line.
• Food preparation and dishwashing.
• Clean tables and equipment after serving meals.
• Laundry.
