About The Position

The Department of Food Services has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Cafeteria Worker (U) position. This role provides support to the food service activities of assigned facilities and assists in the preparation and distribution of food items, while maintaining the cafeteria in a safe and sanitary condition.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans tables and dishes and sets tables.
  • Replenishes the supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes.
  • Prepares salads, sauces, desserts, and other food items.
  • Operates cash register to compute bills.
  • Modifies and issues receipts to customers.
  • Washes pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment.
  • Stocks snack machines, soda machines, and other retail items.
  • Maintains work and storage area clean and organized.
  • Learns and follows food preparation guidelines.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Adheres to the University’s CICARE and ACT standard models for patient and family-centric interactions with patients, family, and visitors.
