Under the culinary guidance of acclaimed Chef Charlie Palmer and Appellation’s Chief Culinary Director Thomas Bellec, we celebrate Lodi’s agricultural bounty with thoughtfully crafted menus, artisan breads, rotisserie-roasted dishes, and local wines – all served in a space that’s as welcoming as it is beautiful. We are seeking a passionate and driven Café Supervisor to help lead our front-of-house team and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role is essential to the day-to-day success of our café, ensuring smooth operations, high standards, and a welcoming, service-focused environment for both guests and team members. Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in the food & beverage industry (café or restaurant preferred) or a Lead Barista
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations with a focus on consistency and quality
  • A hospitality-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively
  • A positive attitude and a natural ability to lead and inspire others
  • Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of café offerings, procedures, and service standards
  • Ability to see with close vision, have depth perception and ability to adjust focus to small numbers and words.
  • Enter data into a computer terminal, operate standard office equipment, and use telephone.

  • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids.
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.
  • Working in hot and cold outdoor conditions
  • Be able to handle stress and have the mental capacity to do so under stressful times and situations.
  • Constant: walking, standing and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs
  • Frequent: bending and bending of neck, grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching below, above and at shoulder level, lifting of chairs and tables for reset of rooms
  • Occasional: twisting of neck, power grasping, climbing stairs while carrying trays and products
  • Ability to lift (up to 35 pounds), bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies; constantly walking and standing for long periods (up to 4 hours) and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; walking over uneven ground and up and down stairs to service guests with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front-of-house (FOH) operations, ensuring seamless coordination with the back-of-house (BOH) team
  • Plan, organize, and execute all FOH responsibilities, including opening and closing procedures
  • Manage POS systems, including programming, transactions, and cash handling
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in compliance with health regulations
  • Communicate new menu items, promotions, and updates clearly across teams
  • Lead, coach, and motivate team members to deliver friendly, efficient, and elevated guest service
  • Proactively resolve guest concerns to ensure a positive and memorable experience
  • Support ongoing training and development, ensuring all team members are confident and knowledgeable
  • Foster a collaborative, positive work environment that encourages engagement and teamwork
  • Uphold and model company ethos in all interactions
