About The Position

Generational Care is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving and enhancing the quality of life for every generation with dignity and care. Through our programs—Home Care Services, Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, and Healthy Ages—we provide vital services that support independence, health, and well-being throughout our communities. Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels is currently seeking a Café Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Meals on Wheels Café in Richland. This position serves as the designated Person-In-Charge (PIC) and ensures compliance with Washington State Food Code requirements while providing exceptional service to participants, volunteers, and the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License required.
  • Washington State Food Handler’s Card required or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire.
  • Food service experience preferred, including food preparation, operation of food service equipment, and health and sanitation standards.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, email, and basic computer applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and supervise volunteers effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Commitment to teamwork, reliability, flexibility, and excellent customer service.
  • Acceptable criminal history background check.
  • Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise meal setup, service, and cleanup.
  • Ensure timely meal preparation and assembly of supplies, dishes, utensils, and food service items.
  • Oversee and coordinate volunteers during meal service and home-delivered meal operations.
  • Schedule volunteer shifts to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and Washington State Food Code requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, including food safety reports, volunteer hours, and bank deposits.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for participants and guests.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties, including phone calls, follow-up communication, and documentation.
  • Attend required meetings and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant, staff, volunteer, and organizational information.
