About The Position

This is a part-time position with opportunity to grow into full-time. Wednesdays and Sundays are a must. This position is classified as part-time, non-exempt with no benefits. This position will not exceed 29 hours a week. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer). It is expected that the Cook / Kitchen Associate will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years in food prep and cooking in a commercial kitchen or restaurant setting
Previous Food and Beverage industry experience
Highly organized and detailed oriented
Able and willing to take direction
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry items while walking
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Strong Customer Service and Communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Reliable and dependable
Professional in appearance, manner and tone
A team player who possesses the ability to work in a team environment

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Responsibilities

Preparing and cooking pizzas
General food prep
Ensuring high-quality food meets our standards
Providing excellent customer service
Handling food orders
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Pizza making
Preps, cooks and fulfills orders
Support for catering events and catering pickup orders
Requires working on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s and occasional evenings when necessary
Adhere to standard operating procedures for food quality and food handling
Keeps a Registered Food Manager’s certificate current
Performs other duties assigned by the Food Service Director
