About The Position

The Cafe Coach (Store Manager) role exists as the main administrative presence in the Stone Creek Coffee Cafes. Our Cafe Coaches begin their journey with Stone Creek Coffee as a Cafe Coach in Training. Our Cafe Coach Trainee (CCT) program is designed to equip individuals to support larger teams and business units as they grow in their path. Coaches work with their team to ensure every person coming into a Stone Creek Coffee Cafe experiences “Remarkable Care.”

Responsibilities

  • Build a team that prioritizes the customer over all other work in the cafe, treating all guests with the same care and attention as close friends and family.
  • Participate in crucial conversations as needed to maintain a healthy cafe environment.
  • Ensure their team cares for their customers by offering product recommendations and going above and beyond to show the customer they are the most important thing.
  • Love coffee, possess contagious passion around it, and want to explore it deeper, while communicating opportunities to pursue continued coffee education opportunities to their team members.
  • Work alongside their team to provide a world-class environment for our customers and coworkers, developing systems and utilizing tools to keep everything neat, clean and beautifully stocked with fresh products.
  • Coach and encourage thankfulness, ensuring their teams warmly and audibly thank every customer.
  • Be able and willing to have difficult conversations about performance, compensation, workplace dynamics, etc. with clarity and professionalism, creating an environment where team members can gather around coffee, be their authentic selves, and celebrate each other’s differences together.
  • Keep commitments or communicate in advance with an updated plan if unable to keep a commitment.
  • Craft development plans for team members and provide regular, specific feedback pertaining to their work quality, personal growth, and potential path through daily interactions and formal performance reviews.
  • Have a clear understanding of team financial success or struggles including their performance to their respective budget lines, and use this understanding to craft plans to improve their financial performance.
