Cafe Barista Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Seasonal
About The Position
A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. The role requires knowledge of coffee menu items, high-quality, fast-paced service, and the ability to work at multiple quick-service restaurant counters performing various functions. The Barista reports to the QSR General Manager and the QSR Assistant General Managers. This is an onsite seasonal position expected to last approximately three months, through the first week of January 2027. There may be an opportunity to continue as a permanent team member, depending on business needs, performance, and availability.
Requirements
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for coffee, tea, drink preparation, and products.
- Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow production directions.
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to operate a manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale system.
- Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso preparation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of barista experience on a manual espresso machine.
- High school diploma.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and serves authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters.
- Provides exceptional guest service and details about products, such as coffee blends and preparation methods.
- Sets up stations and neatly replenishes displays, separating allergens such as nuts and wheat.
- Ensures items are dated and follow First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
- Weighs, grinds, or packs coffee beans according to guest specifications.
- Operates the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring cash drops are accurate and bills are authentic.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas in accordance with the supervising health agency’s standards.
- Works across QSR counters serving pastries, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
