About The Position

A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. The role requires knowledge of the coffee menu, high-quality and fast-paced service, and the ability to work at multiple Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) counters performing a variety of functions. The Barista reports to the QSR General Manager and QSR Assistant General Managers. The position is onsite and has a flexible schedule that often includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Compensation is $19.50 per hour plus any tips.

Requirements

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for coffee, tea, drink preparation, and products.
Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow production directions.
Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
Ability to operate a manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale system.
Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso preparation.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of barista experience on a manual espresso machine.
High school diploma.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters.
Provide exceptional guest service and explain product details, such as coffee blends and preparation methods.
Set up stations and neatly replenish displays, keeping allergens such as nuts and wheat separate.
Ensure items are dated and follow First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans according to guest specifications.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and ensure cash drops are accurate and bills are authentic.
Clean and sanitize work areas in accordance with the supervising health agency’s requirements.
Work across QSR counters serving pastry, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
