About The Position

The Cafe Associate at Cup of Joe’s is often the first and last point of contact for café guests. This role provides friendly, excellent customer service while maintaining a clean, fast, and welcoming café environment. Associates greet and assist guests, direct traffic, prepare sandwiches, salads, and specialty coffee drinks, and process payments. They also stock and replenish café products, including coffee, soups, and grab-and-go items, and perform baking and utility tasks as part of a team.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Food Handler certification from the City of Paterson or a similar food safety certification; certification must be obtained within one week of hire and maintained.
Strong attention to detail and time management.
Friendly attitude and strong customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Three to six months of on-the-job training and orientation.

Responsibilities

Greet and speak with guests as they enter and leave the café.
