About The Position
Sam's Club is hiring a Cafe Associate for its new Baytown, Texas club. As part of the founding team, the associate helps establish the member experience and supports a welcoming, high-energy cafe. The role involves preparing and serving food, monitoring freshness and food safety, stocking displays, and supporting a fast-paced, high-volume operation while providing friendly member service. The associate prepares food according to item specifications and production needs, follows food safety and sanitation practices, manages inventory and product quality, and uses handheld technology to make decisions about production, ordering, and quality. The role also includes assisting members, supporting club pickup orders, maintaining a clean cafe, and safely operating and sanitizing equipment. Flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period if hired.
- Passion for food preparation and customer service.
- Ability to follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Prepare food to item specifications and plan for daily production, mass production, and seasonality.
- Follow food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, Cold Chain compliance, and inventory management practices.
- Stock and rotate merchandise, maintain quality and date controls, and eliminate waste.
- Use handheld technology to make timely decisions about production, ordering, and product quality.
- Assist members with purchasing decisions, payment types, locating merchandise, and resolving issues.
- Support receiving club pickup orders and stock displays with proper containers and packaging.
- Keep the cafe area clean, sanitized, and ready for members.
- Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment safely and effectively.
