About The Position
The Cafe Associate works in the Food and Nutrition department at Atrium Health Cleveland. The role helps ensure deli foods, beverages, snacks, salads, desserts, à la carte hot foods, hot-bar supplies, and equipment are ready and available. The associate prepares and serves food, operates a cash register, handles cash and change, cleans and organizes work areas, restocks cafeteria areas, and maintains records and other documentation. This is a full-time position at 38 hours per week. Availability is required during operating hours Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and every other weekend, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school or in a high school equivalency program.
- Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, including standing and walking for almost all of the work time; routinely bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching; and routinely lifting or carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Close and intermediate visual acuity.
- Ability to hear and verbally communicate.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful experience in food service, a fast-food operation, or a cashier position.
Responsibilities
- Ensure deli food, beverages, snacks, salads, desserts, à la carte hot foods, hot-bar supplies, and equipment are ready and available.
- Prepare deli food items.
- Serve food to customers.
- Operate a cash register, collect money, make change, and control cash receipts during meals and break periods.
- Perform cleaning and organizing activities.
- Restock cafeteria areas.
- Prepare, process, or maintain records, reports, forms, and other documentation.
