About The Position

The Cafe Associate supports food and beverage service in the Atrium Health Cleveland Food and Nutrition department. The role prepares and serves deli items and helps ensure food, beverages, snacks, salads, desserts, hot foods, hot bar supplies, and equipment are ready and available. The associate also operates a cash register, performs cleaning and restocking, and maintains records and other documentation. The position is full-time, with 40 hours per week. Availability is needed during operating hours Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and every other weekend, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program.
• Almost all work time is spent standing and walking; routinely bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
• Routinely lift or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Have close and intermediate visual acuity.
• Be able to hear and verbally communicate.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful experience in food service, fast food operations, or a cashier position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli food, beverages, snacks, salads, desserts, à la carte hot foods, hot bar supplies, and equipment are ready and available.
• Prepare deli food items.
• Serve food to customers.
• Operate a cash register, collect money, make change, and control cash receipts during meals and break periods.
• Perform cleaning and organizing activities.
• Restock cafeteria areas.
• Prepare, process, or maintain records, reports, forms, and other documentation.
