About The Position

Good Foods Co-op is seeking a Café Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced food service setting, takes pride in crafting quality food and beverages, and excels at customer service. This role is suited for a dependable, team-oriented individual with a passion for natural foods. The Café Clerk will support daily operations by preparing menu items, providing customer service, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring food safety, assisting with deliveries, managing signage, supporting inventory, and communicating needs to the Prepared Foods Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be available to work as scheduled and at least one weekend day each week.
  • Very strong work ethic and demonstrable attention to detail. Must be a fast, focused, and hardworking person.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noises (i.e. equipment and machinery)
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching for long periods of time
  • Using hands or fingers to handle or feel
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to team lift up to and over 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb up and down step stools, stairs, ladders
  • Ability to use feet and hands to operate machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet climates
  • High level of maneuverability
  • Ability to communicate by talking and hearing

Responsibilities

  • Preparing sandwiches, beverages, and other menu items according to recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Providing friendly, helpful customer service and responding to customer needs
  • Keeping the café, dining area, and prep spaces clean, stocked, and organized
  • Ensuring proper food safety, sanitation, and storage practices
  • Assisting with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality and invoices
  • Maintaining accurate signage and menu displays
  • Supporting inventory counts and minimizing waste
  • Communicating equipment or operational needs to the Prepared Foods Manager
  • Working efficiently to support team workflow and daily production needs
  • Following all department procedures and safety standards
