About The Position

Zutari is seeking a CAD/BIM Modeler- Wet Utilities to support the delivery of utility infrastructure projects. The role will focus on the development, coordination, and production of high-quality 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models and drawings for utility networks and associated civil infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of coordinated 3D BIM models and the production of high-quality 2D design deliverables for wet and dry utility infrastructure. The role combines BIM modelling capabilities with strong detailing and drafting expertise to ensure engineering designs are accurately translated into coordinated digital models, drawings, schedules, and project deliverables. The BIM Modeler will work closely with Engineers, BIM Coordinators, and multidisciplinary project teams to support digital delivery, model quality, coordination, and drawing production in accordance with project BIM standards, client requirements, and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong practical experience in infrastructure CAD/BIM delivery, particularly within utilities and related civil works in the GCC.
  • Proven experience in CAD drafting/BIM modelling for utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on wet utilities & dry utilities networks, including combinations of potable water, foul sewer, Power, Telecom, and other systems.
  • Strong experience in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Experience preparing design documentation across multiple project stages.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams in a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Familiarity with UAE or GCC infrastructure standards and project delivery environments.
  • Experience on projects in Dubai and/or Abu Dhabi.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks, Revit, and/or InfraWorks.
  • Experience working within Common Data Environments such as ACC/Forma or ProjectWise.
  • Experience supporting authority submissions and IFC-stage deliverables in the UAE.
  • Minimum Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret engineering mark-ups, sketches, and design intent.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and clash resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality 2D drawings from BIM models and engineering markups.
  • Prepare plans, profiles, long sections, cross-sections, details, schedules, legends, notes, and sheet layouts.
  • Develop concept, preliminary, detailed design, tender, authority submission, and IFC drawing packages.
  • Ensure design intent is clearly communicated through accurate detailing, annotation, and presentation.
  • Prepare and maintain drawing sheets, view templates, title blocks, legends, and revision records.
  • Perform smart tagging, scheduling, and annotation of model elements.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of drawing office practices and BIM detailing workflows.
  • Take ownership of drawing quality and presentation prior to issuance.
  • Develop coordinated wet and dry utility BIM models integrated with corridors, grading, and surface designs, ensuring the accurate representation of approved engineering design intent and supporting constructability reviews throughout project delivery.
  • Apply approved object libraries, templates, and modelling standards to achieve project LOD/LOIN requirements.
  • Assist designers with utility alignments, pipe network layouts, utility crossings, and corridor interfaces.
  • Produce profiles, cross-sections, and drawing extraction from Civil 3D models.
  • Support quantity take-offs, schedules, and material reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining model integrity between design, drafting, and BIM deliverables.
  • Support BIM Coordinators in model federation, clash detection, interference checking, and multidisciplinary coordination activities.
  • Collaborate with Designers and Engineers to ensure engineering changes are accurately incorporated into models and drawings.
  • Coordinate utility models with roads, earthworks, structures, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in model reviews, project workshops, and coordination meetings.
  • Identify and communicate modelling, detailing, and coordination issues to the BIM Coordinator and project team.
  • Support resolution of clashes and interface conflicts through ongoing model reviews and coordination activities.
  • Work closely with BIM Coordinators and Information Managers to support coordinated information delivery, model quality, and compliance with project BIM requirements.
  • Apply project and company CAD/BIM standards, naming conventions, templates, and LOD/LOIN requirements.
  • Ensure deliverables are produced in line with client requirements and UAE authority standards.
  • Support QA/QC reviews and incorporate review comments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure BIM objects and model elements contain the required project information, classifications, and attributes in accordance with project BIM requirements.
  • Follow project information management procedures and approved Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows for information sharing, review, publishing, and revision control.
  • Support delivery milestones defined within project programmes, MIDPs, and TIDPs.
  • Work to agreed programmes and deliverables schedules.
  • Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in digital delivery workflows and modelling efficiency.
