Sauder Manufacturing’s CAD team creates seating plans and other drawings for customers, sales representatives, and delivery and installation teams, and provides internal system data from those layouts for production. The CAD Operator II uses computer-aided design software to create seating plans, room layouts, product and part drawings, and other drawings as needed. The role coordinates with external contacts—including sales representatives, architects, and customers—and internal teams across Systems, Scheduling, Order Entry, Engineering, the plant floor, Project Coordinators, and Sales Assistants. The position develops layout recommendations with Sales Consultants, architects, and/or Project Managers; applies building codes to seating layouts; manages project target dates and workload; and maintains drawings and related support files. It also provides system data from seating plans and related manufacturing and purchasing information, backs up updates to contract and drawing details in the ERP system, assists with onboarding CAD Operator I employees, and trains sales representatives in field measuring and related processes. Ongoing training in CAD software and other job-related tools is expected. The successful candidate contributes positively as a team member and works cooperatively in an office environment. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The work environment spans factory floors, personal offices, and executive board rooms, generally with low to moderate noise. Eye and ear protection may be required on the shop floor.
