About The Position

As an intern in Arktura’s Design & Construction Services department, you will support a collaborative team of Project Managers, Designers, and CAD Technicians on a variety of ongoing custom projects in various stages — from initial design coordination and shop drawings to manufacturing and installation support. This role offers experience working in a combined office and manufacturing facility under one roof, an open, collaborative culture with direct exposure to both design and manufacturing teams, and hands-on experience in an environment that blends design and fabrication. The location is near the beach and the greater Los Angeles area, offering an opportunity to work on projects where design intent and manufacturing execution are closely connected.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and collaborative setting
  • Experience with architectural design, detailing, and construction details
  • Strong technical drawing and 3D modeling skills (Rhino and Grasshopper experience preferred)
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) degree or certificate in a related field (Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Construction Management, or other related field)
  • CV and Portfolio of work required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous studio, internship, shop, fabrication, or construction experience is helpful but not required

  • Assist with various aspects of custom project design and delivery
  • Draft technical drawings and details
  • 3D modeling
  • Parametric scripting
  • Project documentation
  • Scheduling and data management
  • Creation of conceptual design diagrams and presentations
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams
