About The Position

The CAD Draftsperson II is responsible for drawing development as assigned by a Designer III or Designer II. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of shipyard design and construction experience or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years of 2D modeling experience. The position demands excellent written and oral communication skills, an understanding of scheduling, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. The CAD Draftsperson II will interact with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives, and equipment manufacturers. Computer literacy with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products is essential. A foundational understanding of vessel design in areas such as structure, HVAC, mechanical systems, wire ways, or fitout is also required. A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of shipyard design and construction experience or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of 2D modeling experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines
Experienced in interacting with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers
Computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products
Possess an understanding of vessel design, in any or all of the following areas: structure, HVAC, mechanical systems, wire ways or fitout
High School Diploma or equivalent
18 years or older at time of application
Able to provide proof of US Person status
No felony convictions of theft/deception or violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
No felony convictions of drug crimes within three years from disposition date
Willing to submit to a drug screen
Willing to submit to a background check

Nice To Haves

AA Degree or higher in CAD is preferred
Experience in the construction of high speed aluminum vessels is advantageous but not a requirement
Knowledge of modular construction methods is advantageous but not a requirement
Knowledge in design and construction of US Navy vessels is advantageous but not a requirement
