Under general supervision, the Motion Automation Intelligence- CAD Designer assesses engineering requirements, translates requirements into blueprints or drawings, and uses software to model complex designs. This role involves documenting, illustrating, and digitally modeling engineering designs, assessing engineering requirements and translating them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software. The CAD Designer will prepare detailed drawings of products from sketches, apply standard CAD/CAM/CAE techniques to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, and assemblies, and customize CAD/CAM/CAE software to model complex or unusual designs. The position ensures that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style, creates digital prototypes, and conducts design simulations to verify reliability, safety, and optimize engineering processes. Recommendations for changes to component designs based on simulation outcomes may be made. The role may also involve providing materials lists and cost estimates.
