Position Summary

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating and managing electrical and mechanical system and component CAD models and drawings for current and future model programs.

Requirements

• Associates Degree
• Minimum 5 years of product design/CAD experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
• Competent in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint
• Problem solver – adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
• Detailed-orientated

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working in Complex Product Development
• Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry a plus

Responsibilities

• Working with Product Design Engineers to model systems and components in the vehicle environment.
• Working with the Systems Engineering team ensure designs meet all system targets, including fit, form, and function.
• Creation of 2D prints for systems and components, including wiring harnesses, high voltage cables, support brackets, heating and cooling systems, and various control boxes.
• Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
• Actively participate and contribute in Design Reviews, Prototype Builds, and Production Builds to ensure correlation to master models
