About The Position

Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG) is a leader in the automotive aftermarket industry, comprising multiple brands like Addictive Desert Designs, DV8 Offroad, Flatline Van Co., and Rago Fabrication. They are seeking a CAD Designer Lead to join their team in Chandler, Arizona. This role involves owning the R&D design process from conception to refinement, creating premium, made-in-America bumpers and accessories for off-road vehicles. The designs are directly translated into physical products through laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly, with close collaboration with a prototype engineering team.

Requirements

Strong SolidWorks skills, including managing complex assemblies and creating sheet metal and tubular parts.
3 years of experience designing similar automotive or aerospace products.
Experience with tooling and fixtures and bringing 3D models into physical reality.
Working knowledge of machine work and processes for final parts.
Experience collaborating with an engineering team and producing accurate, measured drawings.
A creative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into clean, manufacturable assemblies.
Self-motivated and assertive, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Team-first attitude.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily, using templates, physical parts, or original designs.
Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies ready for manufacturing.
Process 3D scans and create scanned mesh models of vehicle data for new product development.
Partner with the prototype engineering team to move new products into automation and production.
Implement part and assembly revisions based on instructions.
