About The Position

This is a Contract position based out of Montgomery, AL. The role involves working inside and outside buildings, specifically in data centers. The technician will be responsible for installing and managing network infrastructure, including laying out and installing wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, and receptacles. They will also build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. Grounding for racks, equipment, and cables is also a key responsibility, as is completing all IDC connections such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels. The job requires operating tools and equipment that normally require two hands, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers. The technician will also pull wire and may oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling.

Responsibilities

Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices
Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware)
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required
Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling
Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)
