About The Position
DataVox is seeking Cable Technicians to join the Building Technology Solutions (BTS) Department in Dallas - Fort Worth! DataVox has been serving the Texas Triangle area for over 30 years with our advanced technology solutions. Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with commercial cable installation required
- Previous experience with network cables (Cat5, Cat6, etc.) required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Clean driving record required
- Car insurance policy meeting DataVox standards
- Have a vehicle in good working condition
- Must have a working mobile phone
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Must have their own tools within 60 days of employment: Phillips Screwdriver Set (1,2, &3), Flathead Screwdriver Set (small, medium, & large) Tape Measure, Sheetrock Saw (Keyhole saw), Punch Tool w/110 & 66 blade Snips, Toner & Wand (Progressive Electronics 200EP or similar) Kleins (linemen pliers) or Side Cutters, Crescent Wrench Set (small & medium) Socket Set (3/8 drive ranging from ¼” to ¾”), Open End/Box End Wrench Set (ranging from ¼” to ¾”) Torpedo Level, Hammer-Touch Labeler (Brother PT-1090 or PT-1010) Hacksaw, Tool Bag or Toolbox(recommend lockable) Flashlight, Caulking Gun, Channel Locks (small & medium)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with closet work a plus
- Experience with analog and IP paging is a plus
Responsibilities
- Installation and testing associated with Network cabling – Cat.5e, Cat.6, Fiber Optic, Coax, Risers and Multi-Pair Tie Cables
- Interpret CAD design drawings and adhere to BICSI – EIA – TIA specifications.
- Understanding and knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and voice and data applications a plus
- Solid experience in complete pre-cabling preparation, installation of patch panels, punch down 66/110 blocks, 110-patch panel, and various data and voice jacks.
- Install, terminate, and test all forms of communication cabling will offer you more opportunity.
