About The Position

This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, GA. The role involves working inside and outside buildings, including data centers. Responsibilities include laying out and installing wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices. The technician will also build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. Additionally, they will install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required, and complete all IDC connections, such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels. The job requires operating tools and equipment that normally require two hands, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.

Requirements

Network equipment experience
Fiber knowledge
Fiber troubleshooting
Cable, Cabling, Cat6, Rack and stack, Punchdown, Cat5, Cable installation, Structured cabling

Responsibilities

Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices
Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware)
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required
Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling
Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)
