About The Position

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. The role involves network equipment, Cat6 termination, and fiber knowledge. Responsibilities include laying out and installing wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices. The technician will also build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. Grounding for racks, equipment, and cable will be installed as required. All IDC connections, such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels, need to be completed. The position requires individuals who can work both inside and outside buildings, including data centers. The shift is Monday-Friday, 6 am-5 pm. The role involves pulling wire and/or overseeing and directing conduit installations and wire pulling. The technician will operate tools and equipment that normally require the use of two hands, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.

Requirements

  • Network equipment experience
  • Cat6 termination
  • Fiber knowledge
  • Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools
  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements
  • Must know the universal communications color codes

Responsibilities

  • Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices
