About The Position

The Cable Machine Operator supports the production of raw cable to required specifications. The operator sets up, runs, and helps troubleshoot cable manufacturing machines, including braiding machines, tape-wrapping equipment, extrusion machines, and specialized wire equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), including working with fractions and decimals.
• Ability to work with small hand tools.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of technical school preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Effectively operate cable manufacturing machines and basic mechanical machines.
• Perform machine setups.
• Diagnose and help resolve basic machinery problems.
• Read and follow work instructions to manufacture quality cable.
• Complete required documentation and traceability logs.
• Complete in-process quality control procedures.
